PC World - refuse to fix laptop

My Toshiba Satellite laptop is 1 year & 2 months old & has died - PC World refuse to fix for nothing as it is 2 months out of warranty & they have opted out of EU regulations stating they should fix problems within 2 years after sale - has anyone else had this problem & if so how did you sort it?? Will never buy from them again!

Well firstly you should find out the relevant statory consumer protection laws rather than making up laws and quoting them.
The SOGA applies. This doesnt however mean they have to fix it for nothing.
The SOGA states the item must be durable and of suitable quality. If it isnt (and you need to prove this to a reasonable level) then you are entitled to a repair, refund (partial) or replacement.0 -
