NTL doing a good job of loosing dial up customers. What other options are there ?

Hi,
got a letter from NTL telling me that they will be charging a flat 3p/min for dial up internet from 1st september which sucks. Does anyone know if there are any other services that can be used on an NTL line ? I know that some of them don't work.
I can't justify broadband as I am a very infrequent user.
Cheers
Martin.

AOL should work - they do a £4.95 package which give you so many hours a month not sure how many though0 -

I bet you'd justify it if you knew you could get it and your telephone line for a combined price of £9.99pm!Four guns yet only one trigger prepare for a volley.Together we can make a difference.0 -
Broadband is cheap enough to justify comparing to any dial up package, its not about how long your on the internet, more about waiting times, I dont for a second miss staring at an egg timer for a page to load, let alone listening to that screech to get me online, for my limited time before i have to re-dial.

Ntl just give them a call and tell them you heard about the deal for new/returning/existing customers for broadband plus phoneline for £9.99, I was an existing customer paying £17.99 broadband plus £9.99 phone line rental and one phonecall to them got me switched to the deal for 12mths.
There is a thread on here somewhere I'll see if I can drop a link.
