Socks (ladies) without fierce elastic at top ?

Oooh Katie! DD bought me a pack of 6 black work socks from Next at Xmas and they grip like a vice (and I've got quite slim ankles ). I took them off nearly 2 hours ago, had a shower, and the indentations and the vertical ridges are still on my ankles now :rotfl: Nice socks otherwise though !!

Maybe it depends on the sock in Next!!

I'm so glad you started this thread. Perhaps I can widen it a litle (excuse the pun ). I don't have fat legs (honest) but this year I've found the opaque knee-highs that I like to wear are very tight on my calves. I asked the question on a fashion thread and someone suggested Evans but they felt equally tight.

Can we widen the discussion to knee highs, please?

Mine are stripey red/pink/lilac ones, bought in a pack. had them for ages, still like new, v comfy and no ankle marks! Will deinately avoid black work socks !!!:)
