Socks (ladies) without fierce elastic at top ?

I need to wear socks (diabetic, easily-blistered feet) but the fierce elastic at the top of most socks upsets my slightly swollen ankles. Does anyone know of any not-hideously-expensive make of sock which has no or gentle elastic ? (You can buy no-elastic ones but they all seem ludicrously ££££s when all they're doing is NOT adding elastic in the manufacture). I have thought also of just cutting into the elastic - has anyone got any good (and modestly priced) ideas please ?

Although I hate to publicise this shop, I bought socks at Primark and they are great. They feel like a linen mix and have washed very well ... they look more like "boot" socks than fancy socks, and came in a 3 pack of brown, beige and caramel.0

I buy soft tops on ebay. A pack of 6 normally. Cosyfeet also do a good range in nice knee highs, which cope well with swollen legs/feet and they stay up and are very comfortable0

I've bought roll-top ones from Boots before, and they were great, no sausage-links ankles at all. It's not always easy to find that style but well worth it for comfort, and they're not expensive either.0

Proper fitness/ sports socks are not restrictive, they have lycra to hold them up not elastic. All of the following materials wick sweat really well - I am a fitness instructor so I sweat LOADS but cannot afford to have blisters. I don't mean big name branded cotton socks but rather ones made out of wicking material.
Look for Coolmax, sometimes available cheaply in Asda and M&S. You might also try fine microfibre socks but they are harder to get hold of (TKMaxx may have Calvin Klein brand cheap), or bamboo socks from eBay. Try to avoid socks with cotton in the mix as these are not absorbent/ fast drying like modern technical fabrics.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0 -

M&S socks aren't too bad, the elastic isn't really constricting and they go up to an 8** Total debt: £6950.82 ± May NSDs 1/10 **** Fat Bum Shrinking: -7/56lbs **
**SPC 2012 #1498 -£152 and 1499 ***
I do it all because I'm scared.

The nurse who runs the diabetic clinic at your GP's may have details of socks designed to be especially comfortable. You won't be the only diabetic with this problem..................
....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)

Try the sockshop.co.uk.They do big socks( for ladies & gents ), wee socks, soft socks -the whole darn lot. I bought some for my big foot son ( size 14) and they arrived a day later. Good luck0
