    Morning All,

Sorry about the AWOL-ness recently. I have been thinking of you all, but I came to the conclusion that I needed to take some time out for me. Anyhow, here is a quick update on certain parts of my life:

    Car
My P reg car has a terminal disease and is on its last legs. We are going to put it out of its misery in May when the tax runs out…..It would cost too much to fix the problems…..there is a hole in the radiator, the suspension is on its way out, the cam belt needs to be changed, the head gasket is on its last legs.

    Work
I have changed jobs, as the last temp role came to an end….but, I am really bored (I have been here 5 weeks) but while they sign my timesheet, I will stay

    Money
No real change there, as I have changed jobs, I now drive to work and have to put money in the tank. Other than that, I am still paying off my debts, and have recently signed up to a bingo site and won £30 – which will pay for the outfit to my Sister in Law’s wedding (she announced on Friday that she is getting wed in July)…I will attempt to make a dress and it will cost £15 (bargain)

Savings – at the moment, I have £500 in my savings account (car fund) but I will need to withdraw that for a new car.

    Hormones
I went to the doctors last week and it would appear that I am ‘normal’ (wo-who, doing a little victory dance)…For those who are new to the forum, I have a condition called PCOS. I had accepted that I might not have children (lots of tears there :o:( ) but now, I am a bit scared but excited that I could actually have children .

    Weight
After doc’s appointment, I gave myself a kick and I have re-started my healthy eating. The good news is that I have lost 2lb, so need to lose 3 stones before I can even think of having a baby.

Anyhow, thanks Milly for starting the thread
Congrats to Mogchops DD for the ear piercing
Littlekel – enjoy the card game

    Today I have/will:
    • Driven at a very sensible 60 MPH on the motorway
    • Meals from store-cupboard
    • NSD
    • Daily scratchcard (this had slipped, but I will re-start it today)
    • Finish my top as I have my last dress-making class tomorrow
    • Stick to diet
    • Take pills to assist weight loss (and ease PCOS symptoms)
    • Look for perm roles
    • Try to be nice to hubby (we are still adjusting to PMS)
    • Have an early night
    • Submit my timesheet for authorisation
    • Email Sis in Law about wedding plans
    • Read newspapers/news headlines online rather than buying a paper
    • Give phone a boost in car rather than charging it at home
    • Enter comps online
    • Drink 2l of water
    • Text hairdresser about doing my hair for the wedding

Think that is about it, sorry about the war and peace length of my post.

    Take care everyone

Am feeling very positive after LS weekend (only essentials accounted for) that I can pay additional £90 insurance this month and not drag it over 2 months. Then I realised if I can do this I can cut back on pocket money and clear debt even quicker!!:T

Hope u all have a great Monday - only 5 days till the wkend....

Got a phone call from the beauty salon and they have agreed to refund me my £50! So happy really didn't think I was going to get it and not sure how I was going to go back after kicking up such as fuss! Will be able to reduce debt by £50 on Thurs! :T

  • Hi Everyone

I’ve been reading this thread for a long time and would like to join please? I’ll do my best to post every day! ;)

Just started raining here, although I was up early so had HC out drying before it rained. Shouldn’t take too long to finish it off indoors.

    Things for today:

    • Check banking & update spreadsheet
    • Another load washing and dry on airer
    • Online shop (must keep to £50 or under)
    • Post films back to Lovefilm to use my subscription
    • Pack and post ebay parcels
    • Enter some comps
    • Prep some bits for ebay on the Turbolister
    • LSD (only ebay postage hopefully)
    • Make PAD (will be tiny today) :o
    • Book hairdresser appt for me and DDs for early April (not MSE, but hoping to do enough ebay to cover the cost)
    • Have a very productive day!!! :)

    Oooh, I love this I-need-to make-£…

    - ironing - go through pile to determine what really needs ironing and what could do with just going in the wardrobe - need to stop wasting my time on loads of ironing

…my ironing cupboard is full to the brim and I’m sure there are lots of things which could just be put away, will be taking your advice!

Welcome to the thread!! Its great in here and even though I dont always pop in everyday it has certainly made me more aware of the little things I should be doing!!!

The ironing is the bain of my life!! I am one of these that irons everything however we dont need to!! especially anything stretchy (Primark clothes dont always need ironing).. its about going through and saving time and money (hours of ironing cant be good for the electric bill!! Some may think scruffy but if its hung properly and its that great material then save the time!!!!!

    Happy sorting!!!! x

Less ironing = less electricity = saving money.

It has often been mentioned on this thread that ironing is infact an illegal pastime! (saying this with tongue firmly in cheek!)

(I'm a hang it all up/fold it all away kinda person - only iron if have 'interview/need it for work/kids need it or they get a hard time at school' - we air dry most things and if you're mega pedantic/lazy/greeny tree hugger wannabe you can avoid the dreaded iron for all but essentials..................:))

NO OFFENCE TO YOU IRONER'S OUT THERE :)

My DD says 'save the planet' and you're boredom - don't iron!

(If you must iron :) - well done on sorting - great idea - someone else on here also switches the iron off for the last 4-5 mins and does the last bits with the energy that's left - which I always thought was a good tip)

PS no manners - welcome Been :)
