I sat down with my cup of tea and chocolate biscuits ready, I was calling Barclaycard to close the account and to leave. My balance was Zero ( just paid it off) but the interest rate was high. I used to have a poor credit history but is good now !! I was ready for a fight, i would stay if they lowered the interest rate but…

I think the most sensible thing to do when you call is to say 'Im THINKING of closing my account' and leave it at that, they will then be forced to ask you why. Then explain to them that the interest rate you are paying isn't competitive and ask if there is anything they can do to give YOU a better do.
