What effect is this going to have on all other websites I visit, with my now 3.6.3 version of Firefox? I'm not clear what you're doing if you make this change.
it has no impact - when you visit a site part of the message includes the browser you are using - it makes no difference to anything else

Getting back to the original post - it doesn't work with Google Chrome v4.1.249.1045b either, although it has worked with previous versions up till a couple of weeks ago.

Tesco bought-out the RBS share in the joint venture in mid 2008.
Mr. H - As I said, I am aware that Tesco's Bank is now independent with it's own banking licence.

I have no inside knowledge - perhaps you do [?] - but RBS are still supplying some services to Tesco Personal Finance and I thought that might include online services :undecided

The fact that Firefox users who can't login are directed to download the latest version [which is the one that doesn't work] makes me hope I'm wrong :)

The backend has been borrowed from RBS as can be seen by the similarity in the way the systems work. However, they are clearly on a separate system. You can tell by the suffix after the DOB for customer numbers that Tesco is using its own online banking database and frontend. I'm sure, though, that in the background RBS is servicing the accounts. I don't think TPF has its own clearing houses.

Natwest has never suffered from this browser problem, which is the clearest evidence that the two systems are not the same.

I too have the same problem, first time it has happened. Just as well I don't have a large sum in there that I wanted to transfer!

I run Firefox, cannot have IE.
  • It still isn't fixed for use with Firefox 3.6.3 so I continue to access what used to be called Tesco Personal Finance with IE7.

I did get one stage further the other day when I was allowed to enter my Customer number, but on pressing the Login button, Firefox still produced the 'The connection was reset' message. I just can't get any further unless I view the page in IE.

Has anyone managed to get into Tesco Bank's My Accounts with Firefox yet?
