Terrible Hotel experience

Hi everyone,
I've just spent a weekend in Manchester with my girlfriend at a hotel. I am not going to enclose the name of the company as of yet.
But I've paid for a double room which was £130. I understood that when I bought the room it didn't have a window.
However, throughout the night the following occured:
Issue One
20 feet away from our hotel room door, was the nightclub that the company has. Which I knew nothing about until I returned to my hotel room at 12am. The went on until 1.30am.
Issue Two
The hotel room temperature was like a sauna all throughout the night. Which we couldn't sleep, the so-called "air-con" was blasted out hot air. I had to cold baths to cool down.
Issue Three
The fire alarm went off for 2 seconds, but our fire alarm was faulty. I only knew this until I telephone my brother that was staying on the top floor of the hotel. We were located another area of the hotel.
Issue Four
Music was playing until 3am, we didn't sleep at all.
I am complained the manager first thing in the morning and I was told I needed to write to the main man of the hotel. I've filed a complaint at their head office. Normally I would complain but the room was £130, and I had little choice of other hotels as others were booked. The trip switches in the room were open as well.
Following this, the manager said they could only offer me 10% off my room purchase (£13 back off a £130 room) which is bang out of order or 50% off my next stay. (If you dealt with all of this would you want to stay again?).
However, I've paid my purchase on a credit card. I understand with purchases you can claim up for purchases over £100. Would this qualify? As it is an awful service?
Any help on this issue would be greatly received.
Many thanks

Is it a natinal chain?
If so - email theCEO - letter of complaint.
Consider spending £25 a take then through the Small Claims court - very quick and easy on line process.....they receive a official letter from the court....usually gets them to sit up and listen.0 -
Why did you not complain at night? How could you not notice a nightclub? Where was the music coming from until 3am?Gone ... or have I?0

Hi there,
I am complained twice, one at 1am and again first thing in the morning, the manager was saying there is nothing that can be done. That adds another thing to the list, poor customer service. I did complain with a huge list of things in the morning. Which I had stored on my iPhone.
The hotel is a national chain. On their website they have an email contact form and thats it. No telephone number.0 -
Hi there,
The hotel had a nightclub as part of the hotel. I didn't realise this until I returned out from a meal with my girlfriend, although it was advertised on the website, however, you shouldn't be placed in a room next to the nightclub. That's totally unacceptable.
The nightclub music stopped at 1.30am, then a fire alarm went off, which was not constant. After we all went back in the building there were noisy hotel guests playing music loud.
In all honesty I got fed up of complaining.0 -

Please tell me more about this Small Claims Court.

Did they not tell the noisy guests to be quiet?
As you complained at the time, you do have grounds to take it further.Gone ... or have I?0 -
Hello there,
I am currently creating a document to send to head office, their main manager, and if necessary people higher, because, there are issues of health and safety at present as well.0 -
did you book through laterooms or something?
beware that sometimes, because late rooms or companies similar have organised a special rate with the hotel, the hotel will usually provide a poorer room than paying a standard room cost direct with the hotel. if you have booked with a third party company you should speak to them to investiage on your behalf.
i always book direct with hotel.0 -
I think firstly you need to name and shame the hotel!
Also - you mention that there were issues of health and safety present - what were these issues?
How do you know that your fire alarm was faulty? What happened to indicate this?0 -

This is really bad advice. What are you going to sue for?
Civil Procedure Rules - Part 1 - the "Overriding Objective" to avoid litigation. At least let Head Office respond first.0
