afternoon,

I have got a HD2 on upgrade from voda about week and a half ago. Unfortunately it has stopped making calls.

Voda have been really helpfull on the matter, but I still have the issue. Last week they said they said that they would replace it, however they have now run out of stock and not sure when they will be getting more in so have offered to change it for another make/model.

I have spent the weekend looking for a replacement but nothing comes close (other than the Iphone 3gs, which I can only get my changing my contract to a more expensive one and paying for the phone.

Can anyone recommend a replacement phone, or what I can do next?

Cheers

NM

I'd be inclined to wait for another HD2 to come into stock if I could.

I guess an alternative might be the Samsung I8000 Omnia II or the imminent HTC Desire.
  • Yeah, in my opinion, the only comparable phone is the HTC Desire. It's running Android, not Windows Mobile, but has the Sense UI you will be familiar with from the HD2.

I'm sure you won't be able to get it on the same tarrif though, as it has only very recently been released. Try enquiring at other local Voda stores to see if you could pick another HD2 up from one of those.

  • Thanks for the reply. I will give Voda a call later today and see if they have the Desire.

I din't think the Desire had been released yet, early April is what I thought, but I could be wrong...
You prob all ready know this but the Desire is basically HTC's own version of the Nexus-1.

Personally I'm waiting for a HD mini ... the HD2 is HUGE :D
  • Well i have spoken with Voda, and will be getting my handset repaired.
  • I have decided to return the phone and come out of commitment, until something else comes along. Not sure on the Nexus or the desire.

    I'll keep my eye open
