Could you do that with a noise complaint? As far as drug use is concerned, they would probably only act on anonymous tips if there was actual dealing taking place which we haven't the usual signs which are frequent calls, often late at night all days of the week people popping in the house for 5 minutes while 3 other wasters stay in their car. It just seems confined to drug use in their parties.0 -
Do it. What you can't achieve on your own you could achieve all together. I'm sure the police are already aware of the drug-dealers calling round, it's possible that all they need is an excuse to pop round when it's not convenient to the occupants. I daresay the HA would be interested if only someone would tell them, but get the cops rounds first. Keep a diary of everything that happens.0

I am keeping a record of their activities and have taken number plates. I'm also considering asking PCSO to call round for a "chat". A visual deterent may just do the trick. I think the guy next door is a bit of a dweeb who is just trying to hang around with the "cool" gang.0 -

Yes you can - the council will tell you they may not act though but they usually will. The police should certainly act on a tip off for drug dealing.
One thing to bear in mind is under the freedom of information act the people who you complain about have the right to know who has complained about them - its long winded to get to that stage but you cannot have guaranteed anonymity if you have given your details.0 -

I don't care if they know I complain, I'm not scared of them. My only worry is the declaration on selling.
They work in the same place as me (a hospital) but in vastly separate departments. However, I do hold a position of some influence and am considering speaking to their line managers to inform them of their habits and to keep an eye on "unexplained" sick leave.0 -

I hope you don't think that of all HA or council tenants. We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -
You seem nice and normal (as far as I can tell on a forum!) however I would strongly advise against getting your work involved. It just doesn't seem right, however much a pain in the behind they are. Have you tried speaking to them directly?
Failing that, price your place to sell and get out?0 -
I'd see if the HA was a public body that had to abide the Human Rights act of 1998. You could considering court action against the HA to claim damages for not acting in ways compatible with the right to peaceful enjoyment of your property and the right to respect for private and family life. If you got an award, you may be able to cover losses for then selling you property at auction to get away from the chavs.0

We have already dropped the price by £15,000. Can't go much lower or I won't be able to bridge the gap on the new mortgage.
And you are right. Keep work and home separate!0 -

I used the term low lifes for the people described in the thread - drug dealers and anti social behaviour. It is exactly these sort of people that do get moved around.
The Council should house people like those in the worst no go areas where they will fit in and not be a nuisance to decent people. Hopefully they will have even worse neighbours so they can see what it feels like.0
