You are unlikely to get more snow this year
So you can postpone the purchase till late this year [by that time you'll have child(ren) so you know how many seats you actually need.
Happiness is buying an item and then not checking its price after a month to discover it was reduced further.0 -
Thanks, dusty well DD1 has a full car seat that goes to age 11, so we'll use it til then, and DD2 will get the same when she's out of her current one.
Thanks, vanilla. Its very hilly here.
movilogo lol! Wouldn't get it til Sept/Oct anyway, but believe in forward planning! Please do not confuse me with other gratefulsforhelp. x0 -

Remember anything in this class registered after March 06 will be in the £400 VED bracket, not as that may concern you now but selling a vehicle like this at say 7 years old with quite possibly £500+ VED by then could be difficult.
Go along with that but I'd pass on the Shogun - parts are soooo dear from Mitsubishi and not that reliable.
Landcruiser any day of the week!Genie

No but honestjohn was suggesting them in the Telegraph yesterday and he is normally a good judge of what works and what doesn't.0 -
I've seen somewhere a bank of three car seats which are one unit, and fit across the back of a standard car. Indeed, I seem to remember that they did a unit of four seats for cars wide enough.

Helpfully, I don't remember what they're called!

I've got some autosocks now, not used them myself but some others on my BMW forum have and they work very well. There are some videos on youtube showing them in action in snow that comes half way up the wheels of a car (Mondeo I think) and eslewhere a BMW 3 series towing a Vauxhall Zafira across an ice rink, the Zafira has it's brakes on!0 -
Subaru Impreza does me for AWD and 3 kids0

Thanks, guys for all those suggestions. The bank of car seats sounds like a good idea, I wonder what the safety aspect of that is?
