A 4WD that fits three child seats in the back

Any suggestions please? Child seats are so big now that even family cars don't necessarily fit three on the back seat. It does need to be a 4WD because 1. When we get snowed in we really get snowed in and 2. We live in the back of beyond and frequently have to go off road as an alternative to getting stuck for hours behind swede lorries, tractors and cows! Please don't slag me off for needing a big car, its much more efficient than two small ones, which is the alternative, and we will be frequently needing to transport dog, MIL and other children as well as our soon-to-be-three.

Are you sure you are not having twins?
A friend had this problem of fitting the 3rd sprog in so went and got a big car for the 3 seats across the back then had to change again when it turned out to be twins! Very expensive.0 -
Ha thats pretty funny, and haven't had the scan yet, so could be! I think I really need a 7 seater, and I want a discovery, but trying to talk myself out of it as I'm sure there's better cars to do the same job. Please do not confuse me with other gratefulsforhelp. x0

If you're prepared to go big you won't get any more reliable or capable or durable than Landcruiser Amazon (expensive but totally dependable) or Nissan patrol, with Mitsubishi Shogun a worthy contestant too.
Remember anything in this class registered after March 06 will be in the £400 VED bracket, not as that may concern you now but selling a vehicle like this at say 7 years old with quite possibly £500+ VED by then could be difficult.0 -
Thanks g and s. Before March 06 is cheaper then? Not so worried about resale as tend to drive them til they drop. Present car is on 126 k miles. Please do not confuse me with other gratefulsforhelp. x0

We've got a lexus RX something or other. It is 8 years old and great. We got it when DS3 was a babe and the other two still on boosters - they all fitted across fine. Are your's moving to boosters or still in the big seats? There is no gear thing going through the back so even now with the eldest as teenagers there is leg room. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0

We have a Mitsubishi outlander warrior, 7 seats and 4WD which is brillant on the snow. Really suits us as we live on a hill which is a nightmare in the snow but the mitsubishi done well this year.Sometimes it seems that the going is just too rough. And things go wrong no matter what I do.Now and then it seems that life is just too much. But you've got the love I need to see me through.:j :j0
