Visa debit card paying for a large purchase

I mean that the car dealer is likely to charge 3% (to take an actual example I know about - it may vary obviously) extra to accept payment by credit card. £450 on £15000. The extra is to cover part/all of the fee the CC company will charge him on a transaction of that size.
Agree about just paying part payment on the CC - the dealer is unlikely to charge for this.
But as I suggested in my first post, it only needed to be a few pounds on the CC,( I never suggested paying £15000 on the CC), and in my quote from WHICH ADVICE, it only needs to be £1. which at 3% is only 3 pence, not a lot for full protection, (if needed), under Section 75Don`t steal - the Government doesn`t like the competition0 -
Good advice there derrick I will bear this in mind next time I need to pay for a large item.0
