BEWARE of Carphone Warehouse ratings

For what it's worth, I have always found Carphone Warehouse staff to be very friendly and helpful. My gripe is not with them. It's with the literature that suggests a phone with known software faults is better than any of the others available. If staff are waving a buyer out of the door simply for asking whether a phone has software faults before buying then they wouldn't be deserving of a higher salary IMHO. I have worked in low paid retail jobs and actually found questions a challege, not something to be discouraged or waved away as if they didn't matter. After all, if it wasn't for the customers, these 'low paid jobs' wouldn't exist at all.0

I agree with GJChester. Orange tend to mess up alot of mobiles with the rubbish they install on them. I had to call Nokia, as i was having problems with my Orange handset. They said it was difficult to help me as the Orange software messed up alot of their handsets & Orange wouldn't play ball with Nokia.
Since then, i've never purchased a handset with a networks software on it & found most of the handsets at Carphonewarehouse are network software free.0 -
I work for carphone and we are paid pretty well. As for the n97 in my opinion its pretty reliable. And orange have withdrawn it as far as i know due to there locking of it messing it up.0

Thanks for clarifying that, Wiggler. This is exactly what the Carphone Warehouse guy said to me when I went in store, and I have found them so helpful in the past (especially in comparison to Orange!), that I would trust Carphone Warehouse over and above Orange any day. It's quite reasurring to know that it's the phone's compatibility with Orange, and not the phone itself that has the issues. I know that when I buy a new phone in the near future, I'll be going to CFW and avoiding Orange at all costs!0 -
Thing is sadly there is not a phone out there that is totally reliable from the cheapest to the most expensive phones now are more unreliable than ever. But thats the price of all the features on them0

My friend has a Samsung Tocco Lite and I have my eye on one of those. So easy to use and so practical..and unlike the iphone, you can text with your nails (something I am used to!).0
