Quico cashback insurance - home contents only?

Quido is offering very generous cashback deals on insurance now. I wonder if they work with contents-only insurance (not building). I live in a rented house and have no valuable possessions, so I need only the minimum insurance. Lloyds TSB quoted me about 92 pounds a year for contents insurance. I could get that back again from Quidco because they are offering 90 pounds cashback on Lloyds TSB policies.
But will Quidco's offer apply to Lloyds TSB contents-only or does it have to have the buildings element as well? I have got a much cheaper quote from Tesco insurance of just 32 pounds a year - they're on a half-price offer now. But obviously if I can really get the cashback deal from Lloyds via Quidco, then it is effectively nearly free insurance. Seems to good to be true?

I've just bought car insurance with them using quidco but the transaction hasn't tracked. Submitted an enquiry but I could be out of pocket if they dont pay up.0 -

I am quite cautious, but I would advise only doing it if you aren't going to be out of pocket if it goes wrong.
There are various reasons why something could go wrong (technical for example) so you need to be looking for a quote which at least isn't going to be a lot more expensive.0 -

Presumably insurance policies have a cooling off period after purchse in which you can cancel. How long is that period? Would you know, for example, before the end of the cooling off period, whether the cashback was going to track OK? If it didn't track, you could cancel the policy and get a refund?0 -
think it take a few months for the enquiry to be resolved VM.0

Do you really need insurance at all? Would it not be better to stick that money in a savings account and use it as your own "insurance fund"?
Edit: Ah sorry, I had read it as being 92 per month!0 -

No I don't think it will work (but good idea though).
Cooling off periods tend to be 14 days.
Cashback can take months because you have to wait for the merchant to pay quidco.
Personally I wouldn't take out a policy that would leave me a lot out of pocket if I didn't get the cashback although I might take a chance on a small amount.
Up to other people what risk they take but there are usually a number of offers on quidco to choose from, so you should be able to find one that's reasonably competitive.0 -
However, you can see within a few days if the transaction hasn't tracked. If it hasn't tracked, cancel the policy and try again. I was going to do this is Pru didn't track for me. However, it tracked fairly quickly. In a rut? Can't get out? Don't know why?
It's time to make that change.

I think the enquires are submitted once a month. If they don't cough up I'll just cancel and go elsewhere.0
