You are not distinguishing between O2 LLU and O2 Access. O2 LLU is superb and has very few problems. O2 Access is dreadful and will be the source of all the negative reviews you have seen.
As long as you can get 02 LLU it will be fine.No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
i am on the basic o2 and its brilliant no problems at allgot £100 cash back as well for joining via topcashback.co.uk0

O2 have been fantastic for me ?!?!?!?! and all my family members for years ???!?!?!?
Yes, they aren't perfect but unlike BollyTelecom (BT) and similar companies they do seem to care when you speak ?!?!?!?! to them over the phone and I can understand the person and they can ?!?!?!?! understand me.
Oh, a few more ?!?!?!?!. I think these marks help some disabled people read. Or something.0 -
As the others have said you'll find hardly ANYONE saying a bad word about o2's LLU packages, whereas o2 Access is not well liked for reasons that will become obvious...
If you can get o2 home broadband you should seek out Standard/Premium/Pro, the LLU packages on Telefonica's Be/o2 UK network and NOT Access (the regular resold ADSLmax 'runt of the litter' where they offered unlimited usage at a lower cost than nearly every other ISP and hence attracted almost entirely 'the wrong type of customer' - who rightly expected a proper service, but realistically weren't going to get it at that price - ie o2 let them down badly!).
Remember to check £back site opportunities (£50 currently, but has been as high as £125 for the top package) as well as o2's own incentive £50 mobile phone credit - AND it's worth getting an o2 PAYG even if you don't plan to use the credit on it (as it costs you 4x£10 (£40) to top up the mobile a year to save 12x£5 (£60) a year on the broadband!).
However IF you have no use for the £50 mobile credit o2 are giving anyway, and your broadband usage is under 40GB of data a month then you may prefer the simplicity of o2's sister brand package "Be Value" at £7.50/m where you can get £40 £back at the moment.

I'm with O2 access but have had severe problems with speed over past 5 months. Only time I didn't have problems is right when my contract was up 3 months ago, they told me it was fixed and appeared to be so, offered 3 months free on the next contract and foolishly I agreed. Speed went bad a week later. usenet speeds are equivilant of dial-up speeds. O2 constantly blame BT who deny the problem. Finally after many tests etc O2 have agreed to let me out of the contract with no penalty. On the positive side I havn't had to pay for 3 months on the negative I've not had a service. Got my MAC but have no idea where to go with it. No LLU enabled, lucky to have electricity near me. Thinking of plus.net.0

im thinking of getting o2 broadband when i leave sky but im just looking on their website at the breakdown. standard is £7.50 a month but at the bottom it says something about static ip (£5 per month) - what does this mean? does this mean i'll actually pay £12.50 per month ?0
-
It is just an extra cost option being offered and as you don't know what a static IP is I'll 100% guarantee that you don't need one. Take the standard dynamic IP service (in fact it very rarely changes anyway) and you'll pay £7.50 for standard upto 8Mbps after the discount for having an O2 mobile.
DON'T FORGET QUIDCO CASHBACK!!0 -
oh ok thanks0
