Cancelled broadband still working (for free!)

A relative of mine recently cancelled his broadband, and hasn't gone to another supplier. The day it was due to stop, he noticed an hour long disruption to his line (as there was when it was activated). However, on trying it afterwards, he finds that the broadband still works. A week has passed and it is still working.…

It is probably a 30 day cancellation period. but becarefull after the 30 days are up!

you'll find after that you might have a broadband signal on your line but your router will not be able to connect (username and password errors) that's standard practice.
(It costs them to get BT to disconnect your line, easier for them to leave it active so that the next ISP you go to can transfer it automatically).
