I would not buy a Picanto pretty poor build quality should come with a free trailer to throw the bits in which fall off

Sorry but that's just nonsense, obviously they are driving irresponsibly. There is nothing wrong with the quality whatsoever. And I used to drive a BMW.

The Kia is a nice car, like you not sure about the Yaris but not with the brakes, although I would rather go for the Aygo then the Yaris but both seem to be lacking on the finish now (not suprised with the Aygo, but the Yaris should be better considering Toyota has a good reputation for finish).

Fiat 500 or Fiat Panda? Basically same car, but Panda has a bit more space due to its shape. A few friends have the 500 without problems.

We've got a Mazda 2, no problems whatsoever (touch wood). Bought the T2 model which has alloys and aircon etc and handles really well.

We looked at Hyundai, Kia, Vauxhall, Toyota, FIAT. In the end it was between the Mazda and Fiesta which looks good too, but the Mazda just edged it.
  • Thanks for everyones input I visited Toyota garage today & now I'm torn between the Toyota Yaris & Mazda 2. I am thinking of the Toyota Yaris with the scrappage deal. I have started a new thread.

You shouldn't care what anyone else thinks about the Kia and just go for it if you liked it when you test drove it. People who take the mick out of Kia's are obviously stuck in the past, a lot has changed. Even the motoring press aren't so quick to rip them apart anymore.

Also, if you want to get a Yarris, I wouldn't worry about the recalls. I'm pretty sure they would have learned their lesson now. If anything it would be a lot safer/better built.

Hyundai i10, fab little car. Do test drive one. We liked it much better than the Kia. Very economical and nippy.

No snags or problems whatsoever over the past year having bought from new.

Does it make sense to you to spend an extra £4k buying an £11, 000+ car? What would you gain? Anything better you could do with that £4k?

The Mazda 2 Tamura is a cracking car for the money.

Reasonable spec and looks good with the kit. Get a white one.

    Excellent car.

Get a bright green one, you know you want to;).

The Yaris issue has been fixed on new models.
Toyota gave me £20 worth of vouchers as an apology, as well as did the recall at service time :D
