Just seen this on another site and thought it might be useful on here. Apparently Tesco might/will be stopping taking certain vouchers from certain brands in June unless they allow them to destroy the vouchers.

Very interesting! I had heard that Waitrose was going to be getting these new Epos tills that will know if you bought the item so the coupon gets deducted. I don't know if they have them now at Waitrose as I haven't been to Waitrose is ages as the last time I went they said I could still only use 5 coupons, even though you have to buy the item now, and still only for 50% of your bill too! It is the most asinine policy, I don't know why they put restrictions on how much you buy if you are using coupons! I thought coupons were supposed to encourage sales of a particular product!!;)Murphy knows me too well and sticks to me like glue!0 -
Are T's accepting the Smirnoff vouchers for a free can, or as 30p off? Voucher is confusing, firstly saying free Smirnoff & Coke, then in small print says 30p?
Where do you see it say on the coupon 30p? I've just read the whole coupon (small print is not easy to read either!) and I don't see anywhere where it says 30p.;)Murphy knows me too well and sticks to me like glue!0 -

I think some of the tills automatically see 000 barcodes as 30p....I'm sure I have seen this in T's although the Milka one the other day came up as £1 but it was my fav SA so I corrected him.....Always keep an eye on what those 000 barcodes scan as basically and 'assist' the SA as you see fit:p Have a good [STRIKE]Tesc[/STRIKE][STRIKE]Asd[/STRIKE]WHO? day - Err....I still wish Mozzies had a better website even though they are now on MyS!

The one I have says under T&C:
To The Customer: Please present thia coupon to be cashie rduring purchase at any participating retailer to claim 30p off a Smirnoff & Coke 250ml can
Was irrelevant anyway as Tesco in Telford refused it point blank, so i dont them to keep their cans, then in Shrewsbury I asked first at customer services to be told 'we dont accept internet coupons', so I asked since when, and was told about 4 months. She soon backtracked when I showed her the email from HO, but would then only allow me 1 per transaction. So I walked out. 2 Sales lost there Mr T
Might have to send another email to Sir T :j0 -
For those of you who get the Daily Mail and might be chucking it out there is a 50p moc off Birds eye field fresh sweetcorn HTH0

OK you have got the wrong coupon....When I select 'print coupon' on the registration page (Not on your browser - It's underneath the 'dummy' coupon - This will only work if you have Adobe installed or some other pdf capable prog) you get a proper moc with a proper barcode 9916203140003.
It then allows you to save it as a pdf and resize etc etc
The one you have has a barcode up the right hand side with no numbers under the barcode I suspect?? - It does indeed say 30p on that one but not the 'proper' one :beer::p Have a good [STRIKE]Tesc[/STRIKE][STRIKE]Asd[/STRIKE]WHO? day - Err....I still wish Mozzies had a better website even though they are now on MyS!

I've never come across this! All the 000 bar codes I have ever used needed to have the price input manually. I always tell the SA what the price is as they will have to put it in.Murphy knows me too well and sticks to me like glue!0 -
Last week I was refused the Farm Foods coupon but told they accept all other competitors and today it was the Lidl coupon! I wish they would get their stories straight. I have emailed head office but am still waiting for a reply.:(
Me too, she even muttered something about it being on a memo that they weren't taking it. I knew I didn't really believe her, but what can you do there and then. She just said we don't take anything that doesn't scan. She wouldn't take the vodka and coke one either because it wouldn't scan or the domestos. Mind you, the coupon is for the Grotbuster one which is actually £2.49, so guess it shouldn't be used on the 49p ones anyway. The chap tried, but as it wouldn't scan, he said he wasn't allowed to tap it in - I even suggested it.
Trout checkout supervisor was the one that said if it doesn't scan we don't take it. If I hadn't offered to get a load of cleaning materials for work (to make up to the £30) I would have said screw you then and walked off!
I'll be on the phone tomorrow!!0 -

I do seem to recall noticing the same thing as m4rtin mentioned, a few times last year. If the cashier didn't notice the prompt for the amount of a 000 barcoded coupon, and just merrily scanned the next one (those were the days!) then the till definitely assumed a small amount.
This even happened to me on a high value coupon that happened to have a 000 ending barcode. Luckily I noticed and pointed it out so the correct amount could be keyed in.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
