This was in all the papers recently, Really.

I'm clearly not the only one with the impression that children cost more than a social life:

    http://www.guardian.co.uk/news/datablog/2010/feb/23/cost-raising-child

How much does it cost to raise a child?

Got a spare £200k? That's how much you'll need to have a child, clothe, feed and educate them - according to the latest data

How much does the taxpayer contribute though ?

Sorry GD, I take it back :o, I have thought this through again.

Nationally (bearing in mind I don't actually know much about you), I reckon you are just below average, I am pretty much underclass

Locally (bearing in mind I don't actually know where you live, nor know much about you :D), you are average, I am a bit below average.

Sometimes I just imagine I'm not so far behind. But then I put the honesty cap on. Confess. And have another glass of wine!

Oh and as for this board...

Don't take too much notice myself. We can all make a username and pretend we live the life or riley. We can all come on and say we drive some nice flash car, own 3 properties, and have a salary of 100k a year.

Theres roughly 40-50 usernames who use this board. On my reckoning, we have roughly 25 real people. I don't 'trust' any username where I haven't seen their real face, especially those who say they have high flying careers, investments everywhere, yet spend most of their day sat here flinging insults and choosing a few smilies from the list, not only under one name, but sometimes 3 or 4.

Bit deep for a saturday night I guess. But I had some juice, and I'm feeling all....well, can't think of the word! But guess you guys know what I mean!

Yes, I'm average, I have struggled to get a house, I have lost a lot of my old life which I really miss to achieve the house. I work as much as I can from home aswell as going to work 5 days a week, hence being on here a lot, to be able to achieve something more later on in life, I hope. No point making things up, I met people off this forum, they know me.

And that's what get's me so annoyed by some of the flippant, picture perfect comments on here. Life just isn't, for me at least, and every situation I have been in, bar those who are my age and have been given money, as rosy as some seem adamant to suggest.

Nationally I would be above average wage wise. Average for everything else.

Locally I'm merely pond life, trying to survive amongst the retiree's from London, licking their rears with affection as I go. I work amongst highly paid people, work for people you all see on the TV too. I get cheques from Coutts bank, so do know my place around here! :p

I don't even know what I'm basing my thoughts on... just rambling.... maybe assets I suppose, you aren't average ATM as you don't have the 3-bed semi & the mondeo yet :D

But you are still young GD, given location & circumstances etc I expect you have done quite well for yourself so far :)

ETA: Put that brandy back, we're not doing a youtube jukebox tonight AFAIK ;-)

I just get really hacked off with the people that just keep ramping up house prices. Gets on my nerves. Going to be in retirement in a few years. Done all that was asked. Had pensions since the 70`s. Just look at the rates, laughable. Savings and investments that are doing nothing. won`t be destitute that`s for certain come retirement but who knows what is going to happen next?

Rampant inflation? That prat Brown can`t let Merv stick up the base rate because everything will collapse. Oh well at least the Pope has apologised for all the Irish pervy priests. At least someone takes responsibility. Shame the rascals that are in power now can`t do the same.

Graham, can I ask you a serious question as I remember you from another website. What did you do with the £60k you won on that online game? Did you put it into your house? Or spend it on cool stuff? I'm genuinely interested as last I remember you'd bought the R32 and that was it. A bit off topic I know so PM me if you'd prefer.
