Do NatWest ever give promotional BT offers?

Options
apart from the intial 0% from 9 months. I would love it if they did LOBs at a low rate but would be interested if anyone's got any 6 month offers.

Anyone help -as my 9 months are almost up and I need to know whether to keep the card.

Thanks :)

Your options as I see them are to

    - phone them up now and ask about an extension or a much lower 'go to' rate (I'd suspect they would consider the latter but not the former)

    Or

    - pay off the balance at 9 months (but only with money you have or is cheaper than the go to rate!) and then phone them up and ask about further promotions with the gambit that you are prepared to close the account at that stage. If successful at attracting a further offer from them it could be worth asking for an immediate credit limit increase to go with this (but only if you are able to use this profitably or realise actual savings - it's not worth havin a larger debt simply because it would be a bit cheaper - in reality you will always have to pay more)
.....under construction.... COVID is a [discontinued] scam
  • In my experience they never ever do, and I know someone who works for them who confirmed this aswell. Because Natwest is (I think) the 2nd biggest bank in the UK, their arrogant enough to feel that they don't need to offer good deals (e.g. competitive balance transfer rates) to existing customers. Their pants savings rates confirms this!

I will credit them for their customer service though...top stuff.
  • we used to be in the top two when it was just the big 4 (Barclays, Natwest, Lloyds & Midlands - Ah, the good old days) - but we were bought out by Royal Bank of Scotland a few years back so they now dictate our policies etc, some good, some bad for both customers & staff - but thanx for the complement about the service. In our branch we really do try but on this site sometimes all you hear is the bad but thats just human nature, won't say a dickie bird if they've had good service but just listen to the outcry if we tell the customer something they don't want to hear

Sorry Mercuryrising didn't mean to go off subject - the fees free bt has come to an end as I had it confirmed at Card Centre when enquiring for a customer last week, at branch level we wouldn't usually be informed if you could swap any residue balance onto a LOB, you would have to contact the Card Centre direct & chat to them
  • Thanks for all the help. I must admit Natwest do have very helpful telephone operators but sometimes the queue to speak to someone is ridiculous - over 15 minutes on occasions.

I take it then that it never happens. Well, I'll try the threaten them with closure thing to make em give me one! ;)
