Thats a brilliant idea! When I used those free National Trust vouchers with my sister recently, she started looking for free deals as well, even tho *she* doesn't need to - its something to do together, that we both like. That kind of thing just reminds us not to sink into a rut..... I'm glad it was all so nice for you - and fantastic to have a cool dad! Thats one thing I'll never be able to say :rotfl:2023: the year I get to buy a car0

Hypno. hope you have a great bank holiday Monday, with a little time to yourself as well as everything else.
You are certainly motivational.0 -
Hypno, have you checked out the betfair prize hurdle promo? Its one of those ones where you acumalate points and can claima prize, it finishes in a couple of days (I've only just noticed it), but you may already have enough opints for the first level prize. I'm probably not going to bother going for it but will look out for a similar one for the World Cup, and your offers are based on your usual usage, so if I don't do it this time hopefully my levels will be lower next time
Might be worth just having a look though to see if you've already qualiied for anything

Hi Hypno, we're using our treat money for the train fares for exploring. OH was on expenses before I came out, and found the restaurant prices horrific, and no where exactly brilliant. Although might get a takeaway from a Thai that was Ok, when the cupboards are empty for going back.
Sounds a good idea on the going out front. Only thing to watch out for is buffets, a diet program on tv a while ago said that people eat 30% more if it's a buffet. We occasionally went to one in Helsinki, but then I rationed myself to one trip and a normally laden plate, it was still good value, it was a Turkish, with lots of meze type things, really yummy
I used to look for restaurant offers in the local newspapers, even did that in Finland!!! On MSE the daily newspaper summary is worth checking too if you know you're going out regularly. Also lots of chains you can sign up for email alerts for when they're doing special promos.
Enjoy your day Hypno0 -
Thanks for that benben - I'd not seen it either, but have just done so and not got enough points for anything......one to watch for the future, though, as you say - especially as there is no extra effort required!
I have just pencilled in a couple of potential car boot sale days in my diary. I don't want to do any, but if I bite the bullet and get a couple done early on, I won't then feel so bad about throwing away the rest of the stuff! If I can make enough to buy the paint to decorate my lounge and my dining room at the end of next month, then I would see that as being well worth doing.Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. Ooh the weather forecast has just been on for tomorrow and it looks like we are due sun plus 16 degrees C, so could be a perfect opportunity to tidy the outside of the house a bit and get those paths cleared. I might even get some bedding plants and plant up the hanging baskets.......Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. If you're in the neighbourhood, you'd probably like Narborough Hall near Swaffham...very nice tea rooms (get there early) where you get a fab mixture of crockery and yummy cake! Gorgeous gardens. Lovely building. They sell some produce when in season and there's a tiny museum at the bottom of the drive on the main road with information on the local area. Went to Narborough to see the Andy Warhol exhibition last year. Probably a car ride though:(
Right, need to get him indoors out of bed as he's going on the cheap easter egg hunt.‘Keep your eye on the donut and not on the hole.’ David Lynch.

It's stopped raining here - and the sky looks almost blue! Off to get the spade.
Have a good Bank Holiday everyone0 -
It is dry here, but still a bit grey......I will stick with the original plan of doing the indoor stuff today, and the outdoor stuff tomorrow.
But....first more coffee, and watching Jeremy Kyle, just to make me feel as though I am doing a good job as a Mother.......:DSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0
