I'm doing WW.......it works very well for me, except when you are given lots of easter goodies, eat jaffa cakes instead of lunch, whilst decorating, and are then taken out for dinner :o

Generally speaking, though, on a normal sort of week, I think it works pretty well, and it certainly doesn't generally feel as though I am on a diet because I can eat what I want as long as it is within my points :)

Maybe the physical exhaustion will kick in (here's hoping)

Yes, am hoping that too - I am going to make a hot water bottle and go and snuggle down with my book.

This is the album cover I've got framed - looks fab in situ, but a bit ordinary on the link....

Dinner was lovely - Cafe Rouge never lets us down, which is not bad for a chain. Moules to start, steak frites (rare, of course) for mains, and a coffee with brandy to finish off. I could do that sort of thing more often :o

Dinner sounds divine and even better that you enjoyed it so much! Hope you do crack open the fizz - you sounds very happy in that post. :A

And as for the album cover, well, I have a lump in my throat. I have that too and LOVE SM. I went to see them at Milton Keynes (many miles from me) when I was 15. Will have to dig out the photos.......

I'm sure your room will be a very special place - and how cool was your Dad?! :T (mine is a hardcore Johnny Cash fan :rotfl:)

    - and how cool was your Dad?! :T

Oh he was very cool :D He was only 20 years older than me, which made him quite a young Dad really, but he had very good taste in music, much of which is on my ipod now. We went to several gigs together, and it was definitely one of those things we truly shared. SM are Gods, IMHO and I am very grateful to Dad for introducing me to them as a child - whatever mood I am in, I can guarantee that putting one of their albumbs on, very loud if poss, will have me singing :A

I think the physical exhaustion of the last few days was greater than the caffeine kick received, because I slept pretty well last night - woke up a couple of times to get a drink and feed that cat etc, but generally slept much better than in recent weeks. Hopefully it won't be a one off!

The children are due back later this afternoon, so I have a list of houseworky type jobs to do so. It's not too bad, but it doesn't do itself, unfortunately. I want the children to tackle their bedrooms tomorrow, but if the rest of the house is a mess, it will be harder to get them to do their rooms!

Hope you all have a good bank holiday x

Clearly your dad aquired my dads share of the parental cool gene. I was treated to a childhood filled with the delightful warblings of Engleburt Humpeldink and his wurlitzer organ. Did go to a couple of gigs with him though, the sort that take place in darked cinemas with tumbleweed rolling past as the wurlitzer rises from the floor and plays for an hour before some very dubious 20 year old film starts....and then I married a man who prefers to listen to Gary Glitter and The Wurzels.

    Good morning,

It's gone 9 here, so a major lie in for me :) Hope you've managed one too.

We're starting to allow more treats out in our budget, e.g. last visit to Stratford we had lunch at Bella Italia, with it being lunch we only had main courses, we don't like wine at lunch time, so all we had was water, with espresso's to finish, paid with Tesco deals :) A really nice meal, that felt like a treat.

So maybe looking out on the voucher code board, or buying some tesco vouchers might allow some more treats in the budget? Think I might look into buying some more vouchers soon :)

Anyway, back to this morning. Scratchies done, all 10ps.

Zurich was OK yesterday, weather wasn't as nice, and it isn't as nice as Lucerne, the old town is quite cute, we also found the area where the millionaire's do their shoping!! Walked a lot, so burnt of some calories. Wanted to see the Rhine falls today, but it's a long walk when we get there, and the weather forecast is overcast/cold/lots of rain, so putting that off for another weekend. Going to see if there's some nice lakeside walks, looked possible from what we saw on the train to Lucerne, and if the weathers too bad there are some smaller stations to get a train back.

Love the album colour, with the black and white photo's of DS & DD skiing, it's going to look very stylish in your study :)

Hope everyone has a good day today :)

I was very lucky to have my Dad, and his musical taste. Compared with some of my friends' Dads, he was very cool indeed. And of course he made a superb Gramps for the short time that he had that role.

Se, you sound as though you are definitely making the most of your surroundings right now - sorry the weather is going against you, but I am sure you will get to do all the walks you want to before you come home.

Treats are def something that we will do more of, on a sensible budget of course. Mum and I were discussing all the places to eat in the area that have been there for ever but that we have never visited.....eg there is a little Lebanese place that always gets fab write ups in the local press, and does a cheap lunchtime menu, but that we have never been to. We've spent plenty of time in the Middle East so are very happy with that type of food. So we have decided that once a month we will make an effort to visit somewhere we've not been before, whether it is for a pub lunch, a mid-week evening meal, lunch on a Saturday, or tea and cake from one of the many National Trust homes etc. We will split the cost, so won't cost either of us the earth, but will broaden our horizons and get us trying new places, and probably new foods, as like many we are guilty of returning to those places that we know.
