Debt free before 40, mac, sadly not. Debt free by Easter though - that is my aim so that next year's bonus can be spent on a proper summer holiday for me and the children.

If I was still working on the old system (ie before OH left and the mortgage was transferred) then I would have used my bonus to pay down unsecured debt rather than secured, and the figures would show that I only had my mortgage and the secured loan left. That would have been rather nice to see! But of course, things had to be swapped about a bit, and it is the original secured part that is now almost gone entirely! At the end of the day, it doesn't really matter what is being paid off as long as something is, and it is all going in the right direction.

Chaos at work - we had new carpets put in over the bank holiday weekend so now we are all playing Pickfords as we try and get our offices back to some sort of workable arrangment!! New carpet smell, though, one of those strange odours that is actually quite nice.....!!

Yep, I'm with you there, Lucielle. Hypno, you're so, so close! Are you going to try to do any matched betting over the World Cup? I bet that would bring you closer (well, I would bet, but I wouldn't be able to lay it, and that would never do :D:D:D)

Pickle I got mine off ebay - mine fits nicely in my not very big dining room without having to move the dining table - they are big, but not massive. I paid £319 including delivery for one that is very good - you can get them a little cheaper, but I wanted one that has an automatic incline and plenty of pre-set programmes. For what I paid, I have a very good treadmill, and cost was less than a year's gym membership which was my benchmark.

Mortgage has been paid so I am in the £10s and in a couple of days when my loan goes out I will be sub 10k which is flabbergasting.

Today I need to BT my 0% card....must not forget!

Pinch, punch, first of the month and all that - have a good day everyone x

    Thanks for the advice Hypno.

And sub-£10K? WOW! :D Embarassingly, you are busting debt a whole lot better than me, and I have a lot less debt to bust! :o Fancy sorting mine out when you have finished with yours?! ;)

Well done. You are doing brilliantly! :T

That's marvelous hypno. As you said it doesn't matter where it's going from as long as it's going. In some ways it's possibly better that it's going off the secured debt, every cloud and all that.

I'm off to try and formulate a cunning plan for my revision which just seems overwhelming at the moment and I'm trying to quell the panic with just do something, anything, that doesn't involve chocolate and does involve books.
    Have a good day.
