Awww, that's awful! Poor you. Hope the G&T's took the pain away and glad to hear it rounded off the week nicely. I like the sound of your boss - a little appreciation goes a long way.....
Sleep well x0 -
The firm we work for are pretty tough.....but they do appreciate their staff, and that is fairly rare nowadays, so we are very grateful for these gestures!
Matched bet placed for tomorrow -not the best odds, but as I am not going to be here to wait for them to get better, I am happy to take what I can now, and know that it is done - £5 to come my way in due course will do me nicely. I can't do the in-play one tomorrow, but there is another on Sunday I can partake in.
Right, off to bed to get a few hours kip before tomorrow's long day.....Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -

Good morning Hypno,
Sorry to hear about the black eyes, at least normally when it colours up the bruising starts to get slightly less painful.
Hopefully you'll get lots of sympathy from the skiing fraternity when they see your 'war wounds'.
Hope DS & DD do well today.
Scratchies done here, another goldfish day.
Hope everyone has a good day0 -
If I see any one with two black eyes round Naaa'rch, I'm going to ask them if it's you! Poor you, hope you enjoy the picnic though!
I've got to do some work this weekend so I don't like I did nothing all week (half true, but had personal stuff to attend to which got in the way in the way that it does). Then conversation with boss next week after which hopefully I'll be a free agent; will take a weight of my shoulders, even if I will be poorer!0 -
Hypno, I can't believe you came on here at that time!!!! I hope the travel has gone okay. Must tell you my black-eye story tho - I got a black eye a few years ago from a child's baseball bat that somebody let go of at the wrong moment, and I felt a little bit self conscious about it. I was getting a taxi home, and said to the taxi driver "I wasn't beaten up, this is a sports-related injury", something like that, and his reply was fascinating. He said "Oh, I know you're not a domestic violence case". When I asked him how he knew that, he said "Because you're not trying to hide it". I was completely blown away!
Hope you're having a lovely day, everyone on here too, lurkers and posters alike.
EDIT - I've answered your comment about the spreadbetting on my thread, thanks for posting!2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
