Hypno, honey, I am loving the bag - utterly Chanel

On a related fashion matter, I'm sure you mentioned TM Lewin stuff recently; do you rate it? I need to get a decent suit & they are half price at the moment so am tempted. Just want to be sure that I am paying for quality

  • Thank you so much for your very wise words on my diary - it really meant a lot.

I love the bag, what a treat! Great choice - and Amelie is one of my fave films, I have the hair, and have done for a long time .....

On bags, you would be proud of me, I had extreme bag provocation yesterday in a Tula outlet....there they sat, trying to tempt me with an extra 25% off, making them a steal, really....I had one in my hand.... it was going to be £49 with the extra discount....I took it to the till....I turned away and put it back!! Yay me.

And today I bought one in Fat Face for £15.00! Not so nice but good for my dog treats......

    Thanks again

Ah, you're welcome Mrs R, and I am glad you approve of the bag......I know it is a good'un if it has the Mrs R seal of approval :D

Honeybear, I think TM Lewin stuff is fab, but I always try it on in store, then come and order through quidco as there is an extra 10% cashback. I wouldn't spend that much on a suit, half price or not, without trying it on with the right shoes etc. But quality wise, I have absolutely no issues about paying the extra for something from there.....and if you get it in the sale, it is often no more expensive than something from M&S!

Am back home from visiting and mystery shopping.....utterly wiped out! Had a lovely afternoon with Nana, though, - went for a walk along the river, and had lunch out, so a bit of money spent (she wanted to pay, but she only has her pension, so I insisted on giving her some towards it) but a lovely few hours. Then went off to do the M/S which I will input at some point this evening.

It would be my guess that because there were insufficient funds available in the bank, they have refused to pay them.

I would ring both places who are due the money, and would pay over the phone.

I don't think it would be likely that the council tax or the car tax would charge you a penalty for doing it, but the bank are likely to charge you for the privilege of bouncing the payments, unfortunately. Might be worth you giving them a call tonight and seeing if they will waive any charges.

Have you got any more payments due in the next couple of days that are likely to bounce too? If so, it would be worth cancelling them online so that they are not called. That way, they cannot be bounced, and you just reinstate the DD with the relevant organisation and pay the bills manually this time round.

    Hope that helps x

If it has never happened before, then a bit of grovelling and "I'll learn from my mistake" to the bank may well help you get them refunded. But remember, it is up to the person at the end of the phone whether they refund you or not, and if you get someone suffering from PMT or who is having a bad day, then you may not be so lucky.

Always worth a try though, so good luck!

She is 86, taxi, and is a very sociable person. She came home from a camping trip yesterday (yup, still camps at her age!), did a coffee morning this morning, cancelled lunch at the church to have lunch with us, etc etc.

She has loads of company, but would still like more visitors!! It keeps her mind active :D
