iPhone/ Tesco/ Nike+/ fitness apps queries!!
Options
Having blinded myself with technology I feel the need to run my understanding past someone more knowledgeable.
Apologies for the basic questions, but I don't want to be relying on a mobile phone salesman or the retentions team for the 'truth'!!
I am recently out of contract with Orange, wasting money on a rubbish phone/ tariff and need a new MP3 player as well as a phone upgrade. I am a fitness instructor :j so the Samsung micoach caught my eye, however it doesn't seem to have good write ups and is several years old. Slowly coming round to the idea that the product I would get most use out of would be an iPhone with Nike+ footpod and fitness apps; rumours of a compatible Nike+ heart rate monitor (HRM) abound and I would want this too.
1. I think I need the 3GS iPhone as the 3G is not compatible with Nike+, is that correct?
2. What is the chances that a new HRM would only be compatible with the rumoured 4G iPhone? I know that is speculation but do Apple have 'form' in this area? Am I crazy to be thinking of an iPhone now or should I wait for the next release to be announced?
3. I want to see a definitive list of ALL the fitness apps BEFORE I decide to get an iPhone. Spent three hours failing to achieve this. I found a massive US list, I found about eight apps by downloading iTunes and I found how to get to the apps store from a phone I don't yet have. Please help this idiot with a link! Can I download any US app or are they different from UK apps in some way?
4. A one year contract with Tesco appears to be cheapest for a low user of texts/ phone calls and on-the-move net access. Can I port my number by getting a code? Does it matter at what point in the month I cancel the Orange contract? My billing date and payment date are two different animals. I think I pay for the tariff in advance and the calls in arrears???
5. I think I have to go into Tesco to sign up, in which case I have a Clubcard mailing voucher and conditional spend voucher - can I use these? Do I then get double Clubcard points on the cash spend for the phone and triple Clubcard points on the monthly tariff or have I misunderstood?
Thank you!!
