Is there any obligation for us to keep hold of the Avon catalogues etc until they come to collect them? Surely if they have dumped it through your letterbox unrequested then it becomes your property? I just chuck them in the bin and then hide behind the sofa when the collector comes round to retrieve them.

It wouldn't be so bad if you left them out and they got collected but sometimes they dont because they get fed up of being lied to by the organiser of untold riches

Some do get collected but I find kleeneze the worst of the lot, they rarely come back

I prefer to leave them at door, because I dont like getting disturbed at home by them or other cold callers. I never buy from anyone of them as I prefer to look for deals myself in my own time and at my convenience
• Umm, maybe this is just me but I don't class avon/betterware catalouges as junk!!

To me, junk mail is the take-away flyers, the builders adverts, the random charity pamphlets.
All of the above I would be sooo happy to not recieve but I actaully quite like flicking through the various catalouges - especially avon.

Maybe the answer is specific stickers!! :D

I get about 15-20 pizza, curry and fried chicken leaflets through my door every week. I now put them in an envelope, post them to one of the companies on the envelope with a note explaining that I am sick and tierd of all the !!!! and not to bother again or I will do worse, I leave my street name but not my door number and post without a stamp, this leaves them to take the time and hassel to pay the postal charge and queue at the post office to collect the letter. Its not much but it makes me feel better. Signs make little difference, most do not speak English, I know this as I have often run after them screaming at the top of my lungs words which I wont repeat on here. (I just REALLY hate the leaflets!)

Have to agree, signs are waste of time most of the pizza deliveries are delivered by foreigners, I know because I have worked in a couple takeaways and also over heard these guys when in garden talking foreign language mainly Eastern European I think

Now I got rid of pesky phone cold callers with my truecall device now I want something for getting rid of junk in my letterbox
