What kind of man carries around an umbrella and hair products?0

What despicable sexism. Why the mockery? What is 'so funny'? Why is it 'bizarre'?
I trust the next news report mentioning how many pensioners die smashing their skulls against the pavements when their bags are snatched will be treated with equal contempt.
Lets have a laugh at victims of knife crime, too.0 -
How can they not list Joey Tribbiani as a famous man bag carrier?Who made hogs and dogs and frogs?

Dear me. No one thinks there's any thing to laugh at with crime victims of any kind. The blog is about the press release itself and its attempt to attract attention to home insurance by focusing on a cult object and using terms like nerd-purse!Martin Lewis, Money Saving Expert.

I know!
My OH has had a man bag for the three years I've known him. Granted it started out when he was a student as his uni bag and then when he graduated it evolved to become a work bag as he doesn't like carrying stuff in his suit pockets.
However, it contains very few of the things mentioned in the press release - normally a 'man trash' book, his phone, keys, any required clothing if he's travelling somewhere, and general random junk stashed in the bottom of it.
Although that said his current man bag looks very similar to the one in the photo in Martin's blog, but it is from Next so quite generic!"A mind needs books as a sword needs a whetstone, if it is to keep its edge." - Tyrion LannisterMarried my best friend 1st November 2014Loose = the opposite of tight (eg "These trousers feel a little loose")Lose = the opposite of find/gain (eg "I'm going to lose weight this year")0 -
40% of men carry man-bags? I don't think so from a look round the high street. To get anywhere near that amount they would have to include laptop cases, backpacks, brief cases, school satchels etc which have long been around and can hardly be described as a new "metrosexual ‘man-bag’" trend.
Even then it would be nowhere near 40%. They probably did their survey on London Bridge during rush hour, or outside a school.0 -

Going to be contentious - Do you not think some of them lose them i.e. put them down right infront of themselves and then can't see where it is. It applies to cheese in the fridge so I don't see why not manbags?

Whats wrong with a man having a bag? Mine has my laptop and my lunch it it normally, alongside some other bits and bobs - but nothing valuable - that stuff stays in my pockets.
Statement of interest: I do sometimes go out with a handbag (not manbag) which has expensive things in - but then I normally dont have pocketsProud of who, and what, I am. :female::male::cool:0
