Texts from Orangeworld re Facebook messages - please help me stop them

I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask this but...

I've recently signed up to Facebook (in order to find out what the kids are on about!) and as I had free access via Orangeworld on my mobile I had a play via mobile.

I am now receiving texts from 91250 when I receive a message on Facebook. The texts don't cost me anything but I'd like to be able to turn them off and I can't find any information about it.

I have no mobile details on my Facebook account so I can't do it directly from Facebook.

I have a feeling that on one occasion Orangeworld asked if I wanted to add Facebook to my social networking and I may have said yes - that may be why I get these texts - but how can I stop them?

I've tried going through help on the Orange site but it appears to be down at the moment.

Any help would be very gratefully received.

You need to switch this off via Facebook. Log in to Facebook, and on the top right, click on 'Account', then click on the 'Notifications' tab. Take the ticks out of any of the boxes on the right hand side, underneath the little picture of the mobile phone. Click 'Save Changes' at the bottom of the screen and you shouldn't get any more texts.

Thanks maxtweenie for the suggestion but there are no ticks in the TXT column so I can't turn them off from there.

If I click on the Mobile tab I only have the option to register for Facebook text messages which requires me to text from my mobile to get an activation code.

On my info page there is no mobile number showing so I think the text is from Orangeworld and needs to be deactivated from there somehow.

I just remembered that there was a link in the text message and when I clicked on that I had an option to remove me from social networks so I clicked on that and I guess it will have done the trick.

Annoyingly I should have done it yesterday whilst I still had free access to Facebook and the internet as clicking on the link and selecting remove me from Facebook social network just cost me a whopping 64p.

How on earth can Orange justify that kind of charge for just accessing 2 maybe 3 pages?
