hi i have got a 3gs with firmware 3.1.3 and modem .....05.12.01 which i want unlocking.
Having researched the internet everyone seems to say this is not possible yet but my local phone shop says they can do it for the next day!!
I don't want them to damage my iphone or get ripped off, has anyone got any info about this?
many thanks in advance.

What network is it locked to?0

Firmware 3.1.3 can, I believe, only be tethered unlocked. Meaning you can't power it off after the unlock or you'll have to unlocked it again.
If its on O2 they'll unlock it for 15 quid which would be a permanent unlock regardless of what you do with it.0 -
If its PAYG O2 will charge but if its Contract it should be free, visit - shop.o2.co.uk/update/unlockmyiphone.html0

They might jailbreak it to unlock it which would void the warranty. There is no way I would hand over my iPhone to anyone overnight.0 -
As far as I'm aware only Apple can unlock them fully (through iTunes). As above, anything else is a jailbreak...0

I am in the same situation with 3.1.3 and 5.12.01 and according to every website and forum i've read there's no way to unlock it yourself. No unlocking at all is possible with 5.12.01 even if you are able to jailbreak it.0
