well done on your saving and taking steps to pay off the overdraft....having been in that situation more than once I know it can get pretty tough!

Match Betting sounds good and like you are making quite good money from it! I havent had a look at it yet...am starting small with car boot sales and downsizing our grocery budgets before I get any more complicated! (easily confused me!)

sorry you are feeling run down this week, hope you get some time for a break over the summer to relax and re-charge the batteries...sometimes all this saving and thinking about money can be tiring , even if the long-term payoffs are good!

    take care

  • Hi guys,

Feeling a bit better today, got a good nights sleep last night and just feel a bit more positive. I think you are right sometimes all the thinking about money and how to make it and save it can wear you down!!

Am up to £8.05 on one poll in my third week so thats a bit of good news for me today, now I know I ahve to log on and check for surveys actually seem to be managing to do at least a couple a day so slowly building the balance up.

Hope everyine is enjoying the sunshine.

  • Well another good week with match betting. Joined some more bookies this week and placed some more bets which takes my total profit to £285 so thats £140 this week. Still got a number of bookies I can join so am hoping to do the same agains next week. Go on holiday mid July so am hoping I can make £500 profit by then. Matchbetting is easy money, it just takes a bit of time and you have to put some money in to get the returns.

I have managed to stick to my budget this week, so very pleased with myself. Now all I need to do is stick to it for the rest of the month!!!

I have worked out at a stretch we can afford to pay £400 off the joint credit card, this will decrease next month as will have paid the holiday flights, car parking and TV licence this month. But hey the toatl on that card is now well below £750, so soon to be below £500:T:T

As I've said before, I would usually update my personal CC at the begining of the month when I made the payment, so I'm finding it quite hard to see that the figure hasn't changed. However as this is now my OD I am saving this for the end of the month when I can see the actual position. I am hoping to make a payment of £300 from my wages and will hopefully be able to top this up to £500 with profits from match betting. although I am only counting money that i have actually withdrawn and not sure I will be able to do this before I go away so will have to wait and see.

Hope everyone else is enjoying the sunshine:cool:

Hi babysteps, you seem to be doing really well with the matched betting, I don't really understand it, but think I will look in to it.
It definatly seems to be making money quicker than surveys, I think I will be retired before I get my first payout from one poll and I seem to do surveys everyday, and am only up to £15 ish!
I read in your diary that you want to lose weight, so do I, but I don't know about you, I seem to be good at either dieting or not spending, but never both at the same time. :o
Its easier when you can buy tasty ready done low fat M&S meals!
Anyway, keep posting as I enjoy reading your diary :)

Yeah the matchbetting has gone quite well, just make sure you read the starter guides over the gambling threads and ask any questions you have before you start. The people over there are really helpfull and some have made loads of money. I don't think I will do as well as them though, as won't be willing to spend the tme and effort finding the good deals once I ahve done all the intro offers.

I will update further on the MBetting at the weekend when I have all the details. Have not done as well this week as am finding it harder to find decent bets now there aren't as many world cup games on.

As I don't have the time to spend ages looking for bets I find football the easiest to bet on as the odds matchers on the web tell you the best deals. As such I have decided that once I have used the last of my free bets that are sitting in a couple of accounts I am going to have a break until the start of the football season in August and then finish off taking advantage of the offers.

I am in the process of withdrawing the cash from various sites and think I will finish about £275 pounds up, so not bad for 3 weeks effort. £200 of this will go towards the OD and the rest will be a bit extra holiday money for some fun.

Well apologies for being a bit AWOL. I am completely exhausted at the moment. I have had so much going on its crazy, work has been manic, home has been manic and to be completely honest I feel worn down, tired and a bit fed up with things. I really need a break for the summer, but at the moment its a bit up in the air if its even going to happen so all in all feel completely down. Not helped with problems with the OH, which could really stop the MFW dream. So all in all, feel very uncertain about the future at the moment.:(

As I've said before given up the MBing for the time being, may start again at the start of the English football season as it seems football is the easiest thing to do it on (for me anyway). Total profit is £340 for a couple of weeks effort so I'm chuffed with that. This will not only help pay off the OD, but also gives me a bit of flexibility with money this month as there is the (potential:mad:) holiday spending money and there have been a couple of bdays to pay for.

I am looking forward to the end of this month so i can work out the exact position on my debt, which I think will make me more positive as it will seem things are going in the right direction for a change.

Sorry about the rant, just one of those days I think!

Well done Babysteps on the matched betting profit! Sorry things are not that great with your OH, hopefully things will get easier for you soon.
This definatly feels like a solo MFW journey for me as DH is not AT ALL interested, so it really helps having others to talk to on here.
Try not to lose heart :)

  • Wow, its been a long time since I've posted. Had so much going on this month and a two week holiday so may I please be excused!!

Paid off another £100 off hthe mortgage, £350 off the joint CC (had some holiday expenses so not as much as previous months).

The other great news is is finally I can reduce the OD amount, due to the match betting £500 in therefore my total personal debt is going down nicely.

All my plans might change in the near future, the reasons to be explained some other time. But am sticking to the MSE ways so hooping this willmake all the rubbish going on easier and not result in me having to many more debts in the future.
