But you have to do the multiplications inside the brackets first and then the addition - so the answer is 10 -

Yup, Dumbledore55, you are right. Head went do-lally this morn, but I agree the answer is 1. (Can't believe I got an O-level Maths! - Mind you my head has never been the same since I drove off a cliff 3 years ago! - No kidding!)
