Easyjet rip off!! Changing name

My girlfriend and i have booked a trip to egypt with easyjet but she has now got a job with easyjet cabin crew so she is unable to go.

Fair enough i though they would charge me a name changing fee, £22.50 each way i think............but no then they go and slap a charge on top of the original price paid:mad:

I cant belive this, they want £45 to change the name PLUS £230 odd in diffrence between the ticket price :mad::mad::mad::mad:

Once again my theory about "rip off" in a title is proven to be correct.

Hay? i come on the forum most days. Just not in a very good mood today.

I have no problem at all with a airline charging to change a name on a ticket but never seen before getting changed on top of that. In my eyes its my seat already im just asking to change the name of the person who puts there bum in it :)

If easyJet allowed that then firms and middlemen would by up a raft of cheap seats and sell them on at a fat profit when the price goes up substantially.

It isn't yours though, if things change when the prices are higher easyJet want more money.
They have to work like this so money savers can fly to Majorca for £20.

Below is an extract from Easyjet's T&Cs regarding name changes:

The 'rip-off' you are referring to is highlighted.

6.2.1 You are not entitled to change Flight reservations once confirmed, save that names of Passengers or Flights (subject to space being available) may be changed prior to check-in for the original Flight on payment of a fee per Passenger per Flight and any difference in Fares or taxes and other charges which may be applicable at the time the change is made, subject always to the conditions in our Carrier's Regulations.

You agreed to the T&Cs when making your booking.

Easyjet are not the only airline to operate this policy.
Apt has explained why airlines have this policy - it makes sense, whether you like it or not.

its like me booking flights as soon as they are released on easyjet then expecting to change the name a week before for 20 quid

They have to charge the diff in fare cause the the airline wouldnt make any money

    One thing I don't understand...

Are Easyjet staff required to change their names when they join the airline? Why does her new job mean that she needs a name-change?

Seriously, an employer that does not allow a new recruit to take a holiday that was previously arranged is a pretty poor employer, and if the OP has any kind of case it is along those lines.
