Help! Can't get on the net with either Firefox or Explorer, the page only seems to half load. Strangely e mail seems unaffected.
Have done a Malware scan and no problems.
Any suggestions please?

I had this the other day, seemed to be linked to an update I installed on AVG. I'm sure someone more techie will help but it sounds just the same!Mum to gorgeous baby boy born Sept 2010:j0

Go to AVG's options and disable Web Shield and Link Scanner, they are unnecessary and greatly slow down your browsing.poppy100

When did you install AVG9?:idea:0 -
looking on avg forums there seems to be a problem with the latest updates for avg conflicting with zonealarm if your running both. Had to uninstall avg and replaced with avast for the time being until a fix is sorted.0

I had the same problem, not only with ie8 and firefox, but chrome and windows updates also.
Uninstalled avg, downloaded it again, re-installed it, and problem went away.[greenhighlight]but it matters when the most senior politician in the land is happy to use language and examples that are simply not true.

The impact of this is to stigmatise people on benefits,

I think its a conflict between AVG and Zonealarm
a) re-install AVG latest version, or
b) check that Zonealarm is not configured to block Firefox or IE - can be unblocked in the program options.0 -
Thanks All - now had a "Techie" friend round who uninstalled and then re-installed AVG, and (fingers crossed) seems to have cured it!:beer:0
