Natwest PPI Reclaim

Hello All,
I sent my original letter to Natwest regarding ppi reclaim 8 weeks ago. I received a letter to acknowledge my original correspondance and then another one 4 weeks later to say investigations are continuing and they will contact me again within 28 days.
Today I received a letter informing me they are still gathering information about my case. So my question to the forum is how long do I give Natwest befoe I go to FOS. I know I can after 8 weeks but from posts on here I see that the PPI Concerns Team at Natwest are very busy.
I would be interested to hear of any timeframes from other posters who have dealt with Natwest.
Thanks

Hi there
Good luck with this.
Its good they are keeping you up to date and as they all have backlogs to deal with and of course some will request for extra time and ask for say another 2 maybe 4 weeks.
However, your entitled to move on to the FOS if nothing resolved by 8 weeks, so it maybe worthwhile perservering for a little longer, good luck, hope you hear soon though with a good outcome.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"

From personal experience it takes roughly about 12 weeks although it does vary from claim to claim.
Perhaps give the Manchester office a call to find out how much longer they are going to be as sometimes this seems to gee them up a bit!!
Good luck.0 -
i would wait it out for a final response if you go to the FOS you will be waiting 8 weeks for the case to be passed to a handlerHi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0

It is up to you . You could give them longer if you can sort it out at bank level it is a lot quicker. If you take it to the FOS then you may wait up to 2 years. Give them another couple of weeks perhaps I know they are very busy.buyahousein2010 wrote: »Hello All,

Hi, I am currently pursuing a claim with Natwest.
Sent SAR request on 5th Dec 2009 and they did comply but not in the 40 day period.
Thought that as I had requested the SAR that they would respond to my claim for mis-sold ppi a bit quicker as surely all the info is there sitting in Natwest Towers in a folder !!! How silly was I !!
Put in claim on 7th Feb, got letter of acknowledgement, on 7th March got letter saying they were working on my file and needed another 4 weeks.
Have been phoning Manchester office weekly and the staff there are quite helpful and look up your claim on a database.
When I phoned last week they said my claim was at the "Calculation stage" and that I would be getting a letter but would prob be around the same time of the 8 week deadline. Not jumping up and down as they could "calculate" that I am owed nothing.
I would phone the office if I was you and ask for an update, I know that they have been overwhelmed with claims !!!

Hi, does anyone have the number for the Manchester office to hand? Tried calling my branch, which is where I sent the original letter, but they don't pick up!
Thanks Liam_Mel0 -
