Growing garlic

At least I'm not the only one. Our garlic packet also said we have to put the whole bulbs in too, so we did! I asked on MSE and had pretty much the same answers you did, and I had every intention to dig them up and separate them, but never found the right time. Now we have loads of shoots coming out of the top, and I'm going to gently dig them up and see if I can split them now. Mind you, we've just spent the whole weekend down the allotment, and I did every other job but that... I think the rebellious part of me thinks maybe there's a reason they told me to do it like that, and maybe I should leave them alone!0

After the confusion, does anyone know what size pots is best to put individual cloves in to as there final pot/container? i am really needing to pot on. Would the Morissons flower buckets be ok to put all of them in?
