I have just installed Linux Mint onto my Laptop and thought I bet get some free Anti-Virus on it.
Why do you think this is necessary? What purpose would it serve? So what i was wanting to know is if it comes with the AVG already installed?0 -

As far as Clam AntiVirus is concerned it. . . . . . . is an open source (GPL) anti-virus toolkit for UNIX, designed especially for e-mail scanning on mail gateways.0 -
You really don't need an antivirus on a linux system, as long as you are keeping it up to date via Mint's software updater. As Baldur points out, the antivirus software programs for linux are really to scan windows partitions or to scan email being sent via the computer if it is used as a relaypoppy100

Is this of any use to you?0
