Could he really see what you where doing or was he guessing? Did he ask you to install/run anything?
Try a quick scan, then go to the malware sticky thread for further scan options. Is mcafee upto date, and windows patched https://www.windowsupdate.com

no, he could definately see, and was telling me what other web pages I was on. Im totally freaked out, ive googled a couple of things and think it might be a backdoor virus??dnt know much about it though.he didnt ask me to install anything, but my computer froze for about a minute and then he was telling me what i was on!0

Try a full scan using the link, update your mcafee if it is out of date, and then work through the malware thread. Unless it is a new exploit, one of them should find something.
It sounds like something like this:

If you have a webcam, unlug it, some trojans can switch it on..Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0 -
im trying to follow the instructions, but theyre quite compicated.
my laptop should be up to date seeing as i only got it last month!
So, if this person has hacked onto my computer, does that mean they know when im on the net ?plus, will they be able to hack onto my pc because I use the same internet connecton?and should i stop using my laptop??
sorry bout all the questions but im v confused!0 -
Until you find out how he did it, everything is possible..
Have you tried the full service scan here:
http://safety.live.com/site/en-gb/default.htm
then run windowsupdate..
http://www.windowsupdate.com/
then try ad-aware and defender:
http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/
http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security/spyware/software/default.mspx
check for rootkits.
https://europe.f-secure.com/blacklight/try.shtml
http://www.sysinternals.com/Utilities/RootkitRevealer.html
Then move on to the other scanners in the sticky thread. A good idea to do it on both PCs.
What was the chat website? Is your firewall turned on (control panel, security center)
If the scanners find nothing, then you may want to post a hijackthis log.

So if you don't have any of the above
1) Download a proper firewall such as the free version of ZoneAlarm
2) Download the trial version of an antispyware such as Ewido
3) Download a free anti-virus such as AVG
Install them AND DO UPDATES so that you are completely up to date
Then turn off system restore and restart your computer in Safe Mode.
Run the antivirus & antispyware. Reboot & repeat. When nothing shows up turn the System restore back on & reboot.
Go to Windowsupdate and download all the high priority updates0 -
