B and Q takeaway kitchens

i am getting near to the end of a long renovation and am running out of money. I was going to buy my kitchen from Magnet trade or Howdens, but have spotted a very similar one in B and Q, a take away kitchen.
It is flat pack, but seems a lot cheaper, I can buy the lot for about £500. How long does it take to put these units together? Shall i do it, or stick to Howdens.

if it's like for like (or pretty much) Howdens price match.0 -
I put together a few B&Q units last weekend and it was really easy and quick. Three put up in about 2 hours and I took my time. Instructions aren't great but you'll get there.
Be prepared to make a few trips to B&Q though as they seem to damage stuff easily. Going on past experience I would recommend opening in the car just to check no previous customer has returned something which is not meant to be there (happens a lot but they are cracking down).0 -
once you know what ur doing and get into a routine you can stick a unit up in 10 mins
glue dowels in... screws in... put together... tighten... next0 -
That sounds great, I was going for howdens or magnet trade because they are ready assembled, but it doesnt sound too hard.
I would be too embarrased to ask Howdens to price match £500 mind you!
Their quote was £2,200.0 -
if you don't ask, you don't get0

Hi
Just a word of warning...B&Q kitchens are normally priced for the units only, any 'extras' are charged as such. This can bump the price up considerably.0 -
actually good point.
does that £500 include the doors or just the carcasses?0 -
Even better go tomorrow,Saturday or Sunday and get 20% off when you spend over £50 ; )0
-
But you are not comparing eggs with eggs. The quality and long term rigidity of a pre assembled kitchen is far greater than a flat pack.Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0

With 20% off I am looking at paying about £450 for the kitchen, this compares to about 1500 at Howdens.
they might not be as good quality, but i guess we can change it in the future0
