Another Howdens vs B&Q Thread (price matching)!!

basically am doing up my kitchen.
my builder has an account with Howdens (and get's "65%" off their RRP on cupboards & "60%" off their appliances).
anyway just a heads up not only do B&Q price match (and minus 10% of the difference) but Howdens also price match.
so last week i got a price for a kitchen from B&Q on their 20% off deal (and been told they'll honour it if i order this week - doesn't really matter as they have the 20% off again this weekend) total including all appliances was £2536 (£3170 pre discount).
took the designs to Howdens to copy it exactly, their price was £3397 all inc.
asked Howdens if they price match and yes they do, now considering i prefer the cupboards from Howdens & the fact they're pre-built, looks like i'll be going with Howdens.
I ended up buying the appliances last week from B&Q cos i couldn't get anywhere near their prices (with 20% discount) with the usual places, I got Hotpoint built in Oven & Gas Hob - £253, curved glass extractor fan - £80, Indesit Stainless Steel Fridge Freezer & Indesit Silver effect Washing Machine - £566.40 (don't forget quidco too!!) so about £900 for all that minus quidco.
so all in all after they price match i'll be looking @ £1200ish for all the kitchen cupboards & worktops (H/L cupboards - 1 x corner, 1 x 300mm, 1 x 500mm & 2 x 600mm. L/L cupboards - 1 x oven housing, 2 x corner, 1 x pan drawers).
so looking @ £2100ish for everything, minus tiles & fitting (which will be a bit cheaper as they're pre-built)
note - i don't work for either of them, as i say just a heads up really, for either Howdens price matching or B&Q (with additional 10% discount!) price matching, don't settle for your 2nd choice just because one is slightly cheaper, get it price matched! lol

Price matching is fine sadly you are comparing apples and pears, Howdens kitchens do not come with Blum hinges or drawers, and the back panels are thin. I haven't fitted a B&Q kitchen in a long time so can't comment but the best kitchen out of the DIY sheds are from Wickes IMO. I don't deal with wickes but buy the same kitchens through another trade supplier0

was comparing to the beech shaker in the "IT" range in B&Q with upgraded soft closing hinges & drawers & Burford in the Howdens with soft closing drawers & cupboards.
also the Howdens branch told me it was 18mm all round including the back.
however on investigation looks like it's 6mm on the base & 3mm on the wall cupboards (will have to discuss this with them i think!! lol)
anyway as i said main thing was just a heads up for peeps price matching.0
