OSPS Blackberry deals on Orange - Question

OSPS (and other CPW outlets) have some cracking deals for Blackberries on Orange. I am looking at an 8520 Curve on an 18m Panther 35 contract with an effective cost (after cashbacks) of £14.58 for 600 mins, 500 texts and unlimited Blackberry Data.

The question is whether this really is the genuine Blackberry data package.

The rubric on the OSPS tariff page says "Now you can access your emails wherever you are with Internet Talk for BlackBerry® from Orange giving you an UNLIMITED* data allowance to use for emails"

Does that mean that the free Blackberry data package only includes e-mail data, or will it include BBM, web-browsing and the like ?

I would appreciate hearing the answer from anyone who has one of these contracts, or a similar contract from any of the other CPW outlets with a similar description of the package.

Regrettably, I have little confidence that I will get a reliable answer if I just call up. Will they put details like that in an e-mail if I do call up ?

To answer my own question, I now have this in writing from OSPS :_

Blackberry panthers packages include the full blackberry data package.
This is blackberry messenger and web browsing this is unlimited but to a fair usage policy. (500mg for the internet and 250mg for the emails) :j

Hey FF99, I am looking into buying the same phone and contract and was just wondering whether or not the cashback deals are actually any good ie is it easy procedure to get the cashback or do they mess around a lot as I've heard and read a lot of stories about stuff like this from e2save.com etc?

Would be good to know your opinion!

    Thanks

I have done both E2Save and OSPS cashback in the past and they were both fine. They belong to CPW who, for all their faults, are a well established company. Their business model depends on a certain percentage of customers not getting their cashbacks, which is why they make it fiddly. People forget to claim, or send in the wrong bits of paper at the wrong time. However, if you are well organised and obey the rules you do get the cashback.

I went off cashabck deals after a big cashback retailer (Cool New Mobiles ?) went under and I lost all the cashbacks. That was possibly my fault for being too greedy as their deals came out at close to zero cost. I think OSPS / E2Save will be OK on that front - hopefully !!

I lost one cashback (final one of four) when they went under  but was lucky enough to sell the phone (which came refurbished in first place), whole thing cost me £40 for 12 months :D.

During the process of getting 3rd cashback, I had to ring them up and be on phone for ages, no one answering and alarm bells ringing. I got onto Three (contract was with them) and gave them the sad story. The lady from Three even tried to phone coolnewmobile herself but could not get through. Very soon after that I noticed Three were backing out of internet marker for cashback offerings.

There was some company or web site set up where you registered yourself as one of the creditors which I did knowing full well nothing would come of it and it didn't.

Hello thank you so much for your reply, a bit relieved to read that they are OK to buy it from :)
But unfortunately they only have it in violet and not the black or white colour :(
So I might just go for e2save.
BTW, I was just wondering how come these companies can afford to pay so much cashback in the first place anyway? Surely there's a catch?

    Thanks

EDIT: oops my bad, they do have it in black!

Yes, this is the genuine article. Fully functioning Balckberry service is included. And yes, I did also use Quidco.

Just as a tip, what I did was to call up Telesales and get them to confirm what the contract included and to send me an e-mail (which the telesales girl was able to do from her own computer immediately) and then took out the contract online to get the quidco. I felt a bit mean, but what the hell !
