God this is going to be a long rant, sorry!!

Has anyone else had any problems with this laughable excuse of a company?

Ordered a coffee table and had the money debited 7th July. At the time of ordering, they offered the date of Friday 14th July for delivery or, alternatively, if this wasn't convenient I could request they ring me to arrange a more convenient time. Great, we thought, as OH doesn't work on a Monday. So tick the box I do and ring me they do .... only to offer me subsequent Fridays stating that they only deliver in our area one day a week.
Convenient for them perhaps but certainly not us.

They then offered a pitifully wide window of delivery times (either 7am-12 noon or 12 noon-8pm): both of which mean one of us would have to take time off work (OH is self-employed so effectively loses money if he takes time off and I had prior commitments) - so after many phone calls from us on their premium rate number, they begrudgingly agreed to our suggestion that we provide them with two addresses of where he'd be and between what times and they deliver it to the appropriate address at their convenience. Like I say they were begrudging at best and threatened to slap a £50 'failed delivery charge' on if their delivery wasn't successful.

Item was duly delivered on Friday 14th July. On opening the box however we found a split running almost from front to back down one of the panels. We rang them immediately and they promised they'd send a replacement part out on Monday and that it should be with us probably by Wednesday or Friday 21st at the latest.

Guess what. Friday came and went with no delivery. So we get on the phone to them again only to be promised AGAIN that they'd send out a replacement part on Monday and that it should be with us probably by Wednesday or Friday 28th at the latest. OH got suitably cheesed off with these promises and asked to speak to a manager or supervisor.
After reading the riot act to him, Manager then promised to chase the supplier on Monday and call us every night of the week to give us an update until it arrived.

Great.

We got a call on Monday 24th from him saying he'd chased the supplier and that they were hoping to get the part sent out on Tuesday, and that he'd check this had happened and let us know.

Tuesday came and went with no call.

Wednesday we ring again asking what's happened to this Manager and why hasn't he rung, to be told that he's not in til Thursday (apparently they work 4 days on and 3 days off .. so quite how he felt able to promise to ring us every night when he knew full well he wouldn't be in every night, is beyond me). The Manager that was in was pretty unhelpful and ended up asking OH what he wanted her to do because the suppliers were shut at that time.
At the mention that they might refund our card and then come and pick up their heap of scrapwood, they said it was against company policy and could only do it once they had their goods back.
She could find no records on her system of the suppliers having been contacted (despite on three occasions we've been promised they have been) and said she'd contact them today and call us back. It's now 8pm and we're still awaiting a phone call.

Am absoloutely appalled. At no time have they even so much as apologised for anything or appeared to have given a stuff that they're !!!!!! a new customer off.

Has anyone else been through similar misery with them?

    In their t& cs they say that delivered furniture will be unwrapped in front of you for you to inspect,did you have standard delivery or the other type?
