Monthly broadband deals

Hi all.
Me and the OH are shortly moving into a place. We're hoping it's for no longer than 6 months and so don't want a broadband provider where we are tied into a contract.
So we're looking for a provider that has no contract but which is still good enough to run his Xbox. We're currently thinking Freeola, only downside is the connection fee. Failing that is 3 mobile broadband. We're both with 3 and he's already had them ringing offering it and there's no contract. Would one of these two be the best bet, or is there a hidden gem?
Thanks.

They all require a contract-though there are some that will do 30 day contracts. Broadband is exchange specific, so go to https://www.samknows.com and see what your LLU options are, these will be the best deals.
Bear in mind that if you want ADSL broadband you will require a BT line, where the minimum contract is 12m anyway. No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
There are quite a few home broadband packages with no or minimal contract periods, e.g. less than 6 months.
Plusnet is a good example, they offer a no contract period as long as you pay a set up fee of £40. The monthly prices remain the same.
Be broadband also do 3 month contracts, however the monthly prices increase compared to the 12 month deals, and there is an additional £24 set up fee.
There is a list of them all here http://www.chooseisp.co.uk/.../broadband/no-contract.asp Although Plusnet or Be are probably going to be the best / cheapest options.
As macman says though you will need a BT line which would have a 12 month minimum contract - however you can take the contract with you when you move in 6 months and I don't think there is any charge for moving (I don't remember paying one when I moved recently and I'm still in contract).
The broadband is probably more wise to get out of contract just on the basis you can't guarantee availability when you move again.
Mobile broadband won't be adequate for any online gaming - you'll end up exceeding any limit fast and the excess data charges are expensive.0 -
generally, no contract = pay set up fee, so you'd either have to swallow it or take a contract with an ISP who allows you to move house (for no additional cost, though you'd need a contract)0
