    It doesn't really log anything suspect by default. If you have locked it down as you say, then it should be as tight as my wallet. If you don't play online games or use p2p file sharing, then disabling upnp is also a good security step.

    No there is nothing suspect just wondered what to look for it someone did try to access as there are other networks in the neighbourhood.

    Disabling upnp in the router or in XP?

    Router..

    Click UPnP, Make sure that "Turn UPnP on" is unticked, click apply.

    If it is enabled in XP, and you don't use it, then you can use this:

    Thanks to all who has helped with my queries...

    My router is always on and here is an extract from my log:

    Fri, 2006-07-28 02:00:01 - unexpected reply: 535 Error: authentication failed
    Fri, 2006-07-28 03:00:02 - unexpected reply: 535 Error: authentication failed
    Fri, 2006-07-28 04:00:01 - unexpected reply: 535 Error: authentication failed
    Fri, 2006-07-28 05:00:01 - unexpected reply: 535 Error: authentication failed
    Fri, 2006-07-28 06:00:01 - unexpected reply: 535 Error: authentication failed
    Fri, 2006-07-28 07:00:01 - unexpected reply: 535 Error: authentication failed
    Fri, 2006-07-28 08:00:02 - unexpected reply: 535 Error: authentication failed
    Fri, 2006-07-28 09:00:01 - unexpected reply: 535 Error: authentication failed

    Now obviously, i was asleep during 02.00hrs until 06.00hrs, so I wouldnt have been using the connection, any idea what this all means?
