First of all why has the original 'Orange retention' group closed??

Second,
t the moment im about 7 months over my contract basically have been waiting for a good phone to come out. Have decided on the 'HTC Desire' when it arrives in april but want some advise from anyone with the knowledge what i can push for.
I checked with orange and on there records i come under the band 5 (sorry maybe the wrong term) but i believe this is the best/highest within the orange points scheme renewal, but have generally got way over every months contract i have :s

Basically if poss i would ideally like the HTC desire phone free, insurance, about maximum of 200 mins talk time, unlimited (or whatever is closest) internet usage, and 400 - 600 text messages. Like everyone i would like to get this for as little as poss, but what kind of offer could i get for a set up like that ??

The original Orange retentions thread was closed because two idiots decided to take the thread over and have a slanging match. Pity, as it was full of useful info.

I'd be interested in what deals Orange would do on the HTC Desire also. I am cancelling my Orange contract next week, with the only offer to tempt me to stay being a reasonable contract on a Desire.

If you leave it a while (a couple of minutes) it loads in the end. God knows what's wrong with it this time . . .

my contract ended around september 09 and not once have i received any call from orange to make notice of this or make me an offer.

tried the orange site last night and got on fine, only noticable change i could see is they've added the new sony phone to there 'coming soon' section, although still no new HTC phones stated :(
Today though all i seem to be getting is 'come back soon'
Ive been waiting sooooooooooo long for orange to finally get some new GOOD phones in

  • Hi, I guess this is the new retentions thread then!

I've been with Orange for years, been very complacent so I haven't upgraded when I should have done and am now 3 years out of contract.

I have been offered the following:
    800 minutes
    800 texts
    unlimited landline minutes
    unlimited data
    magic number
continue to get my orange home broadband for free

    for £20 per month with free Nokia 5800;
for £25 per month with free Nokia X6, HTC Hero or
for £25 per month + one off £50 for Sony Satio

just wondered how this compares to everyone else. I wont use that many texts but may use the minutes. do you think I can get the cost of the line rental down by reducing the texts? I dont want to lose the free home broadband.

Look forward to hearing from you soon.
