A drink to me is at least a tenner and at most a £20
But I would never give £15 as that's just weird.

We had a tip from a customer recently for £120 between three of us, apart from the fact we were pleased as it's a decent tip. It was also nice as most people would have just given us £100 as it's a round number so they out a bit of thought into it. (Most people give us a lot less or nothing)

Depends, different in Scotland and Yorksjhire to everywhere else:o:o:o

In all seriousness if he's doing you a favour, make sure you can go back next time, a fiver tip kind of precludes that ;)
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

A drink I always assume is the cost of a bottle of spirits

er....it really depends what he is doing on your car. If he's doing something major and time consuming and asks for a drink, then yes, i would probably give him a £20 or a bottle of spirits, but for instance, if he was changing a wheel or fuse/bulb etc, then £5 - £10 would be more apt.

Really depends on the work been done and how much you can afford.

    Hi Everyone,

Thanks for the replies - it all seems to be pointing to £10 or £20.

He's going to do about 5 to 10cm of welding underneath the car.
