Of course it matters, if the so called garage gave the OP that information, they need to be qualified to make that statement.0 -
Wish I could get my car through as easily.
My last MOT required the replacement of two brake flexi-hoses because of corrosion. If I had just wire brushed them they would have been fine!0 -

Not a good idea to wire brush a flexible hose:rotfl:, I take it you mean a rusty metal brake line,
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

Isn't that what you put down a hole to catch a rabbit?0 -
There is no requirement for the type of fixing used for a CV boot...it just has to be secure to the CV and not leak.
I find that alot of tyre monkeys do not understand the requirement for tread on an MOT.the main one being that the outer edges should fail which is not the case....only the center 3/4 of the tyre has to have at least 1.6mm tread deapth on a class 4 MOT.Sorry
:money:0 -
Tyres need to be checked more often than the annual MOT test. Like, a LOT more frequently. How come it has taken since January for you to look at your tyres? Don't expect the MOT test to pick up every bit of wear and tear that will happen over the next 12 months.0
