So annoyed with B & Q!

I purchased goods to re do my kitchen in November but its took until now to complete it :whistle: I tried to return the unused items and was told after 45 days they don't need to take anything back,, I wasn't told this when I purchased them. I don't see why they can't let me change them for something else as they are still on sale in their store! I have now ended up with £55 worth of stuff I can't do anything with! So annoying!!

Ebay it. I was about to say I don't understand why B&Q have change there policy recently but actually I do.

It is £25 box of laminate floor and £15 tin of paint can't see anyone buying that on ebay! I know people buy anything on there but would probably only just cover the fees! I can understand why B & Q have changed there policy as someone brought a used toilet seat back when I was in there!! But for new unused items still for sale in the store I don't see why they can't change it.

sorry but you are taking the mick abit, they don't have to take back anything if they don't want to and 45 days is more generous than 99% of other retailers!

is the paint is the same as you've used in your kitchen i.e leftover keep it in the shed or something because kitchens are notorious for stains etc and who knows when you might need to patch it up!!

Same goes for the laminate! if you cracked or damaged a bit of laminate you've got spares there to replace it?!

Yeah suppose thats all I can do

And as for taking the mick,, no I don't think I am as this is a new rule which didnt even apply when I bought the stuff.. I won't be buying from there in the future unless I can calculate exactly what I need or make sure the jobs done quickly :rotfl:

I'd agree with that logic. After all, say you cracked a board or damaged the paintwork and then found that the lines had been discontinued?

If you REALLY want to get some money back from it, I'd suggest writing to the head office (Chandlers Ford, Hampshire) with a strongly worded complaint regarding your order having too much of these two items on it and the length of time it took to complete the kitchen.

B&Q has changed a hell of a lot since I worked there by the sounds of it........

The old policy was 90 days so you would have been outwith that anyway

Didn't even know that! But as I said someone was taking a used toilet seat back with no receipt and didn't seem to be having a problem when I bought my stuff!

I think I will write to head office to see what they say,, I did send an email but they never bothered replying.
