Hi all
My partner is learning how to driver at the moment with a qualified instructor. She had had about 14 lessons now (some had to be cancelled in January due to the snow we had) and she is now being taught her first manoeuvre (three point turn).
The instructor is pleased with my partner’s progress and has suggested she gets herself a small runabout car with power steering for extra practice as she only has one hour per week, were going to up it to 90 minutes per week.
Just wondering if any one came give me any small car examples that are cheap on insurance, powering steering costing under £600
Cheers all

Most cars these days have power steering really. I think older very basic saxos and 106s didn't, and I know the older basic Hyundai accent 1.3 didn't have it (but mine has as a factory option
). 0 -

Out of those the felicia is the best in terms of reliability and build quality.mrdunkleysexy wrote: »thanks everyone for the suggestions so far

Power steering is not the be-all and end all. Some cars need it and some really really dont.
Example. My Car - Rover 114, no power steering. My Brothers Car. Escort Estate with power steering.
My brother borrowed my car about a week ago and commented on how light the steering was! Skinny little tyres and a light car mean its really not required.
As for cars to look at you need to be looking as small as possible really for a learner. I *think* Mk4 fiestas i.e p reg-> had power steering whereas the earlier ones didn't. But wouldn't really be able to make other suggestionsProud of who, and what, I am. :female::male::cool:0 -

2000 on Hyundai Accent all have power steering, but rear three quarter visibility is a bit naff, and you sit very low, but otherwise are OK. 106 diesel has fairly heavy steering but later versions are power, may be a bit over the £800 though.0

The felicia was the first car to come out after VW bought Skoda, i.e. the first good skoda!mrdunkleysexy wrote: »I was thinking the same thing about the Skoda too. Not too sure when VW took them over but I drive a seat Toledo which is pretty reliable0
